Windows downloads are now digitally signed

You download Labelme on Windows and still see “Windows protected your PC.” One useful detail is now different: the current 7.4.1 installer and portable app are digitally signed by Kentaro Wada. Expand the warning and Windows shows Kentaro Wada in the Publisher field instead of Unknown publisher, giving you a concrete identity to check before you continue.

Why a signed download can still show a warning#

SmartScreen considers both the publisher's reputation and the reputation of the individual file. Microsoft explains that a newly created binary can still trigger a warning even when it is signed, until the file or publisher has accumulated enough positive reputation. Code signing gives you a publisher to verify; it does not promise that SmartScreen will immediately stop asking.

Before selecting Run anyway, confirm that you downloaded Labelme from this website and that the Publisher field includes Kentaro Wada. If Run anyway is unavailable, ask your IT administrator on a managed computer or contact support. Do not turn off Windows security to open the app.
